Wasn’t sure at first if I’d use this enough to merit the price but after having had it, it has become a priceless utility. The program is very intuitive in my opinion. Easily does all sorts of things with file names that makes batch renaming of graphic files for websites a breeze… can do find-and-replace, adding a prefix or suffix, changing the letter case… really awesome. Has saved me many hours of painful file renaming the old-fashioned way. Have never had any problems with bugs with the app.

This is a must-have app in my collection. Since I discovered the original Name Mangler, I’ve been a loyal user. Never a release with a misstep, version 3 is progressively great. Even with the risk of being Sherlocked by the Mavericks Finder, Name Mangler is my go-to applicataion for batch renaming. I reccomend it to everyone who deals with any kind of batch file process on OS X.

This app is just what I was looking for, and more. And when I needed help, Rob from Many Tricks was there to help me. Excellent support and an incredible app/tool. Hightly recommend!

Great app that helps me deal with the river of media files submitted at our community media center. This app lets you blast through reams of files, to standardize naming schemes, and clarify contents so that humans looking at them know what they are dealing with. This is just one of its many potential uses and well worth the money. This makes changing naming schemes so easy (and its visually dynamic so you can see potential changes before applying them), you’ll never dread re-organizing your file libraries or acommodating requests from others to do so. Basically this makes file renaming so efficient that lots of doors will open to what you can do (because hand renaming thousands of files is not reasonable even if it is possible). I have used this app since version 2(?) and it just gets better and better, which is why I am writing this review :) BTW, if you understand Regular Expressions or are willing to learn them (RegExes are useful to learn if you are a programmer who needs to do lots of text processing), you can create even more sophisticated matching and replacement patterns. However it is not necessary to learn RegExes to exploit this app.

Just play around it with it to figure it out. It works! Thanks for making a great product. PLEASE keep it current for the rest of time; I’ve been through a bunch of renaming utilities and this is the best. Thank you!

Name Mangler solves a tricky problem in a graceful way. Thanks for putting so much effort into its design.

This app is really useful and worth every penny. It’s not something I use every day, but when you need to bulk rename a few hundred audio files (based on meta-data), or some other non-trivial renaming, it saves a lot of work. It has tons of features that will let you get on with your life.

So, one might think this app is a bit pricey to just rename files, but it is competative with other *full featured* apps out there. The bottom line is this app rocks. The flexibility and options, all wrapped up in a slick and intuitive UI, make it just the right tool for the job. I’ve bought a number of apps from Many Tricks and they always deliver.
